According to ABC News, the judge presiding over the Honeymoon killer trial dismissed Gabe Watson of murder charges after prosecution finished making its claim today.
Watson was accused of murdering his wife, Tina, in Australia while scuba diving 11 days after they were married in 2003. The prosecution argued that Watson cut off her air supply while they were scuba diving, then turned back on the air after she had died.
The motive, the prosecution argued, was that Watson wanted to collect on his wife’s life insurance and possessions.
The defense called for a motion to dismiss the case for lack of evidence, and the judge agreed.
