According to ABC News, the Chinese television show “Interviews Before Execution” has been cancelled due to “internal problems.”
The show only aired in the Henan province in central China and drew in more than 40 million fans.
Over the span of its five years on air, Ding Yu, the shows host, interviewed over 200 people on death row, sometimes hour before they would be executed. The show was approved by the state because it was meant to be a deterrent against crimes, according to the Daily Mail.
